Designed to complement the Arcam Solo Movie and Music system, the Arcam Solo Muso Speaker delivers audiophile levels of sound quality with an unobtrusive but stylish aesthetic.
Inside the Solo Muso is a 125mm bass/mid-range driver unit that uses a specially made paper-pulp and fibre sandwich cone that is light yet stiff. The drive also has a die-cast chassis that allow for thinner supporting structures - resulting in more sound passing from the back of the speaker cone to the inside of the cabinet and reducing reflected sound that tends to add distortion.
The Solo Muso also employs a pure aluminium dome tweeter that, along with the main driver, passes sound both forwards and backwards. When travelling backwards, the sound pushes towards the back surface and is radiated into the cabinet. To help combat this, the rear surface of the tweeter is damped to help reduce distortion and improve sound clarity and detail.
The cabinet itself features speaker wadding that further dampens internal reflections, and helps increase the apparent volume by slowing down air movement that extends the low frequency response. The cabinet walls are lined with vibration dampening material that reduces vibrations and sounds radiating from it. By using a front-facing port, the muso speaker can be placed with the back against the wall without interfering with the port response.
The Arcam Solo Muso Speaker employs great speaker technology to deliver what can only be described as that ideal Arcam sound.
