It’s not very often these days that people ask us about high end CD players. The majority of music lovers these days tend to only stream through high quality streaming services like Qobuz or Tidal Hifi and have the “special selection” that they now collect on vinyl or locally stored high res 24-bit FLAC files.

However, there are but a few that have amassed thousands of CD’s over the years and are loath to part with them considering the outlay they have spent in those said years.

So that being said McIntosh has just released this beast of a CD player. Following their typical tradition of superb craftsmanship and painstaking attention to recreating the very essence of your music collection with breath-taking results.

The 2x read speed of the discs are placed in a buffer memory to ensure absolute accurate playback of both CD’s and SACD’s without the need for untimely error correction. This results in absolute pleasure that demands attention as your favourite album is playing.

This new player has another addition to its arsenal via a USB input located on the back which will allow you to use this to play digital files from your laptop/PC or tablet which will allow playback of DSD/128 files. Incorporating the high quality 8 channel 32-bit/192kHz digital-to-analogue converter. This results in 4 DAC’s for the left channel and 4 for the right channel resulting in unprecedented realism and depth to stereo reproduction.

There are also digital coax and optical inputs to allow connection from other devices so as to employ this truly stunning DAC to ensure all your music sources get the very best reproduction possible.

Its outer casing is the beautifully polished metal open chassis design, the Illuminated logo on the front of LED display. The design is to accompany either the MA352 or MA252 amplifiers that we already have in store which are mind blowing to say the least.
