The Chord Electronics Hugo 2 is a revolutionary upgrade to the Chord Hugo portable amplifier/DAC, with new features, upgraded performance, and an all-new chassis design.
Inside the Hugo 2 is the latest FPGA and advanced Watts Transient Aligned filters that bring performance gains in timing accuracy, noise reduction, headphone amp power, and dynamic range. For headphones users, the Chord Hugo 2 keeps the popular digital crossfeed function from the previous model and offers three operation modes from its dedicated control sphere. The system cross-feeds a partial 400 millisecond-delayed and shaped signal from the left and right output to the opposite channel, and thanks to advanced binaural audio research, can duplicate the effect of listening to speakers.
The Hugo 2 offers four digital inputs: optical, coaxial, HD USB, and Bluetooth. Each input supports high-resolution file playback up to 768kHz and DSD512 support. With new laser-ablated function-lettering on the connections and switches, using the Hugo 2 to select input, switch filters, and change other settings has been made much easier.
Changes made to the battery life and charging help make the portable experience of the Hugo 2 unlike anything you've seen (or heard) before. The Hugo 2 now has around 7 hours of battery life, with two different modes of charging: fast charging when used with a 1.8 amp power source, and slow charging when used with a power source of less than 1 amp.
The case of the Hugo 2 has been redesigned using precision-machined aircraft-grade aluminium, with a sharp, low profile design and four top-mounted spherical control buttons for ease of use.
Whether it's for listening indoors or on-the-go, the Chord Hugo 2 is sure to provide a new lease of life for you headphones.
