The Hugo M Scaler is a standalone upscaler, which will redefine the sound quality from almost any digital source. Another product in the Chord stable that features unique filter technology from Rob Watts, capable of taking 44.1kHz digital signal (CD quality) and upscales it to 705.6kHz, which 16 times the resolution of the original signal. Pass this to a suitable DAC from Chord such as Qutest, Hugo 2, Hugo TT2 or DAVE. The performance LEAP that you will hear will be astounding simply has to be heard to be believed.
The Hugo M Scaler brings the unrivalled advantages of our ground-breaking FPGA-based WTA (Watts Transient Alignment) filtering technology to digitally connected audio devices, dramatically improving sound quality. Although optimised for use with selected Chord Electronics DACs (for the maximum 768kHz upscaling/decoding benefit), the Hugo M Scaler can be used with other DACs with suitable inputs, subject to their decoding capability.
The advantage of the employed technology is that it can fit into the compact TT form factor, couple the M Scaler with the Hugo TT2 and the TToby power amplifier and you have a 3 box compact system with a huge performance.
When partnered with either of Chord Electronics’ 768kHz-capable dual-BNC-input DACs, the Hugo M Scaler sets an astonishing technical benchmark for digital audio performance at its price point, redefining sound quality from digital audio.
