The Pro-Ject Essential III Digital takes the Essential II basics and improves upon it both cosmetically and technically.
The Essential III Digital aims to be a turntable that can be connected straight out of the box to any modern hi-fi system. The integrated phono stage gives users the option between an analogue line level output or a 24-bit/96kHz digital Optical output. So whether listening to music through a soundbar, an AV receiver, a DAC, a digital pre-amplifier or a multi-room system with different input options - the Essential III Digital should fit in flawlessly.
The analogue output uses a phono stage based upon Pro-Ject's iconic Phono Box design to deliver a brilliant performance from the fitted Ortofon cartridge.
Using the same 9V motor as the Essential II, the Essential III has a new integrated grounding link that further reduces electrical interference. The premium motor is driven by a built-in signal generator that allows for speed stability and minimal resonances.
The platter has been upgraded to an Acryl-IT E platter that helps reduce unwanted resonance by offering an inert platform for your records. The platter also has a bearing made from stainless-steel inside a bronze bushing with a Teflon-lined bottom that gives super smooth rotation and an overall impressive sound.
The MDF frame of the Essential III is wrapped in a high-gloss paint finish to give the base structure extra style and flare. This plinth is then mounted onto 3 anti-vibration feet that provides effective decoupling from the flat surface the Essential III would sit on.
Other improvements include a pre-fitted 8.6" aluminium tonearm that gives lightweight, rigid characteristics, and provides smooth tracking throughout your record. The tonearm comes with a pre-installed Ortofon OM 10 cartridge, saving you time between getting it out of the box and putting your favourite record on.
