The Technics SL-1210GR turntable takes the traditional analogue and advanced digital technology combination of the SL-1200G, and adds additional high performance parts.
By using a two-layer construction and applying deadening rubber to the rear, the SL-1210GR platter manages high-rigidity, vibration-dampening characteristics that helps reduce resonance. The shape of the die-cast portion of the platter has been optimised, with additional strengthening ribs applied to the rear surface to both improve rigidity and dampening.
The SL-1210GR uses a Technics developed direct-drive motor that was made to eliminate rotation irregularity. The rotational control uses the latest motor control technology to verify and correct motor precision, with additional fine-tuned electrical circuitry ensuring the motor achieves maximum performance.
The tonearm used in the SL-1210GR is a traditional S-shaped tonearm that uses aluminium piping to grant a lightweight yet rigid tonearm. The tonearm bearing section uses cut-processed housing that employs high-precision bearings, with an initial-motion sensitivity of 5mg being achieved thanks to manual assembly and adjustment. Together, this enables high precision tracking and reading of the record.
Gold-plated phono and ground terminals are provided, allowing a wide variety of cables. Extra metal shielding has been used within the case to help reduce external noise.
The body of the SL-1210GR features a two-layered construction that grants a rigid performance, while special silicon rubber insulators support the body to provide high dampening characteristics and added long-term reliability. Horizontal vibration is managed through reinforcement by using cylindrical tubes using microcell polymers.
The Technics SL-1210GR provides DJ's and high-end audio enthusiasts with a vinyl experience like no other.
