The Yamaha MCR-N470D is a high performance mini Hi-Fi system that mixes a range of old and new methods for listening to your audio, and comes with a set of speakers to get you up and running quickly.
The front of the main unit features a slim CD drive that can play all your favourite audio CDs, along with MP3 and WMA files burnt to CD-R/RW. Along with this, a more modern USB port that can play back audio files from a USB storage drive, and a headphone out for quiet listening. The back of the unit has an auxiliary phone and 3.5mm inputs for playback of external devices, a network port for playing audio from network sources, and a DAB/DM radio antenna.
The MCR-N470D has additional support for various wireless streaming methods. AirPlay allows Apple devices to cast audio to the unit for playback, along with WiFi and DLNA allowing for devices on the same network to share files for playback. With access to the internet, radio stations and services such as Pandora, Spotify, and qobuz are available as additional audio sources.
Yamaha have also added support for MusicCast Multi-room streaming. The MCR-N470D can connect to a large number of MusicCast supported speakers and soundbars, allowing any music playing back through the device to also play back through connected speakers.
